Modern city meets Roman fortress, Split is a harmonious blend of old and new. The wide palm-lined waterfront is home to cute eateries for gelato and Croatian wine, and the Diocletian’s Palace is now a hideaway for restaurants, shops and homes. From Split, we’ll sail south to Dubrovnik, the perfect example of a walled medieval city. Circumnavigate the 13th-Century walls and hike (or take the cable car) up to Mount Srd for unbeatable views. Picturesque Piran in Slovenia is a web of winding alleyways leading to historic sights and tasty seafood restaurants. The Old Town is one of the Med’s best-preserved towns, and you can tick-off the Gothic Venetian House, museums and the beautiful Bell Tower.

Our next stop is Venice, giving you the opportunity to see one of the world’s most iconic cities. Sail down canals in a gondola under pretty bridges and explore St Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace. In Ravenna, look for the most mesmerising mosaics hidden away in antique buildings. Head off the more heavily beaten track with a visit to Pula, where you can see one of the world’s most complete Roman amphitheatres. Next up, explore popular Rab’s geopark and Zadar, a terracotta-roofed city that’s quieter than Split and Dubrovnik and perfectly placed to explore the rugged islands that lie just offshore. Our final stop before returning to Split is Šibenik, the gateway to two national parks: inland Krka and Kornati, a breathtaking cluster of islands and islets.

In Venice, sail down canals in a gondola under pretty bridges and explore St Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace.

In Piran, explore Postojna Cave, the queen of the underground world before venturing to discover Venice by Gondola. In Pula, venture off to the beautiful Brijuni National Park and escape to Krka National Park in Sibenik, to be captivated by its beautiful, cascading waterfalls
