Our voyage begins in Lisbon, Portugal’s cool, lively and culture-filled capital. Jump on one of the iconic trams that shuttle along vibrant streets, grab a custard tart from the best bakeries and capture shots of those famous azulejo tiles which cover the city.
Spend the day beach-hopping from Portimao, a gateway to the breathtaking Algarve, where dramatic sea cliffs guard golden-sand coves. Next comes the Spanish settlement of Cadiz, a fascinating city considered the oldest in the Western world. Its history is almost palpable as you meander around mazy streets.

Further north, in the ancient naval port of Cartagena, seek out ancient ruins and take in magnificent city views from a massive Roman Theatre. Then it’s time to sail to the Balearics, a cluster of beautiful Mediterranean islands. Explore tiny and laid-back Formentera from the village of La Savina and head over to bustling Palma on Mallorca. From there we’ll sail to Barcelona, where Antoni Gaudí’s extravagant buildings accompany fabled beach, bar, tapas and art-gallery scenes.
