Turquoise waters off Moorea in Tahiti, French Polynesia

Golden Horizon sails first for the turquoise waters of Taha’a for a day in tropical paradise. She then makes the quick hop north to mystical Bora Bora, where green flanks, sugar-white shores, sapphire seas and a barrier reef brimming with life are the magical norm. A two-day stay here means the scintillating scuba diving or snorkelling can be combined with easy hikes.

We’ll journey onto lagoon-framed Raiatea, the second largest of the Society Islands. From Uturoa, Raiatea’s buzzy capital, you could embark on a quick tour of this large isle’s bamboo forests, volcanic crater and waterfalls; alternatively, stroll up a hill for far-reaching archipelago views or sample strange fruits at a traditional Polynesian market. Similarly spellbinding is jungly Huahine: two picturesque isles where vanilla beans and bananas are farmed.

Before returning to Papeete, our last stop is Tahiti’s heart-shaped little sister, Moo’rea. Here, eight mountains soar above yet another transparent lagoon, around which you can snorkel, jet- ski or take romantic picnics on deserted sandbars.

Explore mystical Bora Bora, where green flanks, sugar-white shores, sapphire seas and a barrier reef brimming with life are the magical norm.
