Oman’s landscape is otherworldly at times. Oman’s landscape is otherworldly at times. On the coast of East Africa, Djibouti has a remarkable landscape of its own: salt flats, volcanoes and the low-lying crater Lake Assal, where the salty waters offer a similar ‘floating’ experience to the Dead Sea… but without the crowds.

In subtropical Salalah, the scent of frankincense trees wafts through the air. Ubar is a legendary lost city, while in the Dhofar mountains the scenery is lush and green, dotted with waterfalls and natural pools. Offshore, Masirah Island is a desert island of soft sandy beaches and thrilling watersports.
