Tradewind Voyages Covid Policy

Tradewind Voyages are committed to meeting all recommended Industry and Government Covid protocols for their voyages but also recognise that the situation is continually evolving and that for the foreseeable future, requirements will be dependent to a degree on the Voyage destinations. In order to assist our guests in planning we have developed our Covid principles along the following lines.

Over 75’s
  • We have also taken the decision to revoke our policy for over 75’s needing a fit to travel note from their doctor for our UK Voyages only (this also includes our voyages to Norway & Denmark). All guests are still required to have valid travel insurance for their voyage. For any voyage departing from any other port that is not within the UK, we will require a fit to travel note from the guests doctor if they are aged 75 or above, this will be required upon embarkation and guests who do not have this may be refused boarding.

UK Domestic Voyages

• Subject to any significant changes to Government travel policy, TWV do not require passengers to be vaccinated for UK domestic Voyages.
• Passengers will however require to be in possession of evidence of vaccination or be will required to prove negative in tests on embarkation.
• Temperature checks will be taken on embarkation.

International Voyages

• For the safety of passengers and crew, all persons onboard Golden Horizon (passengers and crew) will require evidence of Vaccination.

Australian domestic voyages

• Subject to Australian Government travel policy, TWV do not require passengers to be vaccinated for UK domestic Voyages.

All above protocols are subject to any significant changes to Government travel policy.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance cover is mandatory to sail with Tradewind Voyages. Make sure your insurance provides full cover for a cruise holiday, the full length of your trip and all of the destinations you are covering. Ensure that your policy includes cover for travel, cancellation and curtailment. You must declare any pre-existing medical conditions and read each policy thoroughly to make sure you have the cover you need. When travelling with us, your insurance must include a combined medical and repatriation cover of £2million minimum that includes emergency evacuations and medical expenses related to Covid-19.

Tradewind Voyages has partnered with Holidays Extra to offer cover for our voyages. Holiday Extras offer cruise-specific travel insurance policies. One of the key benefits is that this cruise-specific cover includes things most travel insurance policies don’t cover as standard, such as missed ports, missed shore excursions and cabin confinement. Holiday Extras also offer COVID cancellation with their Gold policy. To learn more visit http://www.holidayextras.co.uk/holiday-insurance.html?agent=BE413.

Covid-19: Book with Confidence

We are working to ensure we have in place a comprehensive suite of enhanced protocols, covering every aspect of a Voyage on Golden Horizon.

These will be in place to protect our Guests and Crew and still ensure you have a fantastic time on our beautiful ship.

They will be in line with the guidance from the UK Government and CLIA, our industry body. We plan to give further updates after the Government’s planned announcements due around the middle of April 2021 through our social media channels and website.

If you are unable to embark Golden Horizon due to a local lockdown in your home country as a result of Covid-19 or due to your home country’s Government advising against travel to your destination(s) as a result of Covid-19, we will be able to transfer your booking to another Tradewind Voyage*, or you can choose to have a full refund of monies already paid to us.

If we have to cancel a voyage due to Covid-19, we will be able to transfer your booking to another Tradewind Voyage*, or you can choose to have a full refund of monies already paid to us.

Please note that before you travel you should ensure that you and each member of your party have obtained adequate travel insurance covering circumstances where you and/or any member of your party contract Covid-19. Where you and/or a member of your party are forced to cancel due to contracting Covid-19, we will be unable to refund any monies paid (outside the scope of our normal Booking Terms and Conditions) and will direct you to your travel insurer.

*Replacement voyage to be undertaken within 24 months of the original voyage departure date. Where we are unable to offer a replacement voyage of the same price, category and cabin, we will discuss the options available with you.
